Questions about safe zones

What is a safe zone on Reels, TikTok and Shorts?

The apps draw their own interface over your video: the username and caption at the bottom, the like and share buttons on the right, search and tabs at the top. The safe zone is the part of the frame that none of that covers, so text and logos inside it stay readable.

What size should a Reel or TikTok be?

1080 × 1920 pixels at a 9:16 ratio is the standard for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels. Meta suggests 1440 × 2560 for ads. The margins in this tool are measured on 1080 × 1920 and scale to your file.

How accurate are these margins?

Only Meta publishes numbers (about 14% top, 35% bottom and 6% on each side, for ads). TikTok publishes template images, and YouTube shows a marked area without numbers. Where nothing official exists, the tool uses the widest of several independent measurements and labels it an estimate. Always check a draft in the real app before you post.

Why are ads different from regular posts?

Ads add a Sponsored label, a call-to-action button and often a longer caption area, so they cover more of the bottom of the frame. Choose Ad or Regular post to match what you are publishing.

What does All platforms mean?

It takes the strictest margin of every platform on each edge. Anything inside the green box is clear of all four interfaces, which suits one video you post everywhere.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Pictures and videos are read in your browser and never sent to a server. They only leave your device if you choose to save a check to a StillToReel account.

Can I check a video?

Yes. Drop an MP4 or MOV, then scrub or play to any moment. Check the frame where your title or call to action appears.
